Allen-Vanguard receives $8 million in orders for protective equipment against improvised explosive devices (IEDs)

OTTAWA, July 7 /CNW Telbec/ - Allen-Vanguard Corporation (TSX: VRS) ("Allen-Vanguard" or the "Company") of Ottawa, Canada today announced that in the last week of its third quarter ended June 30, 2008, it was awarded contracts totaling approximately C$8 million for protective equipment against IEDs, including robots, bomb suits and Electronic Counter-Measures (ECM) systems for undisclosed customers. "We are pleased at this pickup in order flow and the continued confidence of our customers, which reflects their preference for proven, world-class equipment when it comes to saving lives," said David E. Luxton, President and CEO.

The company stated that it expects to deliver the bulk of the orders by the end of its fourth quarter of fiscal 2009, which ends September 20, 2009.
