Agreements to Explore Batong Buhay Project
Metals Exploration Plc has entered into agreements to exclusively explore, develop, and operate the Batong Buhay Porphyry Copper-Gold Project in the Philippines, a 440-hectare licence area considered a highly prospective and advanced target. Initial exploration work will commence immediately, with a drill program anticipated in the second half of 2026. Historical drilling has shown significant mineralisation, including DDH-6A returning 160.93 metres at 0.92% copper and 0.60 g/t gold, and DDH-02 returning 198.12 metres at 1.15% copper and 0.10 g/t gold. The company has secured necessary approvals from the indigenous community and the Philippine Mining Development Corporation, and has committed to a five-year exploration and development expenditure totalling PHP 1 billion (approximately US$16,000,000).
