CALGARY, May 16 /CNW/ - Alternative Fuel Systems (2004) Inc.
("AFS (2004)" or the "Company") (TSX Venture: AFX) is pleased to announce that
due to strong initial sales of its custom designed electronic ignition and
fuel system controller, the Company has received a purchase order to provide
another production run of these systems for a customer based in the United
States. This order is valued at about $175,000 Cdn. AFS (2004) President and
CEO Jim Perry stated, "we are pleased that our customer is having such success
in selling these systems. They are being used in places like southeast Asia,
where customer acceptance has been so good that another manufacturing run is
already required. Our challenge is to get electronic parts in-house as quickly
as possible, so that we can meet this rapid increase in demand. We have pre-
ordered some of the long lead-time items, so we have a head start in getting
things underway. Delivery should occur in the third quarter of this year."
The systems that AFS will manufacture for this order are combined
electronic ignition and fuel controllers. These systems facilitate the use of
clean burning natural gas in vehicle engines, helping to improve air quality
by reducing harmful emissions.
AFS (2004) provides systems and components enabling diesel and gasoline
engines to operate on cleaner burning natural gas and other alternative fuels.
The company is headquartered in Calgary, Canada and trades on the TSX Venture
Exchange under the symbol AFX.
