The SGLA Group visited Control Union (CU) to engage in a learning exchange regarding carbon certification.

April 17, 2026 — Control Union Offices
Today, the SGLA team had the rare opportunity to visit Control Union (CU) in person! It was not only an enlightening day of learning but also a valuable professional exchange that deepened our expertise in the field of environmental standards.

During the visit, we gained in-depth insights into the Verra certification methodology. A methodology refers to the specific set of rules that must be adhered to in order to substantiate environmental claims. We also had the privilege of engaging in in-depth discussions with industry experts, Shah and Helmi, further enhancing our understanding of the standards related to Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) and Zero Plastic Oceans (ZPO).

This experience has broadened our horizons and inspired us to move forward with a clearer sense of purpose. By studying successful case studies—such as PDMR 5331 and 5332—we are now even more confident in advancing our own Verra certification process. Concurrently, we are actively pursuing opportunities for tax incentives through DSM (Standards Malaysia).

Our heartfelt thanks go to Shah and Helmi for their warm hospitality, which made this visit truly meaningful and memorable!
