Saean Group and Evermore Sign Strategic Partnership MOU

Evermore Technologies Opens Advanced Research Center in Naju, South Korea to Accelerate Next-Gen Battery Innovation

Naju, South Korea, April 22, 2025
Evermore Technologies, a global leader in next-generation secondary battery technology, today announced the official opening of its Advanced Research Center (ARC) in Naju, Jeolla Province, South Korea. The ARC will serve as a core innovation hub focused on high-performance battery solutions including silicon cathode materials, semi-solid electrolytes, and bio-based carbon materials.

The new facility also features a pilot production line capable of executing the full process from raw material synthesis to cell manufacturing and performance testing, all conducted in-house to maintain quality and innovation control.

The opening ceremony, held at 2:00 PM KST, was attended by several dignitaries and industry leaders including Naju Mayor Yoon Byung-tae, Naju City Council Chairman Lee Jae-nam, Jeonnam City Council Chairman Seo Eun-soo, representatives from the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Job Investment and Promotion, Chairman Lee Jung-yong of Saean Group, Chairman Kim Jae-woo of TND, and Michael Lee, Chairman of the Evermore USA Board of Directors.

“The ARC Center is not just a laboratory, but a global platform that combines technology, talent, and trust,” said Michael Lee in his welcoming remarks. “By merging Korean technological expertise with American commercialization capabilities, Evermore is positioned to lead the future of next-generation battery development.”

Mayor Yoon Byung-tae also praised the center’s timely arrival in Naju:

“As Naju continues to evolve into Korea’s energy capital, Evermore’s decision to invest here aligns perfectly with our vision. We anticipate that the ARC will serve as a growth engine for the regional industrial ecosystem.”

During the event, Evermore signed two major strategic partnerships
• A university-industry collaboration with Chonnam National University to nurture battery talent and advance joint research initiatives
• A joint development agreement with Saean Group to co-develop high-power batteries for the ET-30, a 30-ton electric truck

“Evermore’s battery solutions are built for demanding industrial environments like electric mobility,” said Chairman Lee Jung-yong of Saean Group. “We look forward to continued collaboration as we transition toward sustainable transportation.”

Real-world testing of Evermore’s battery packs in the Saudi Arabian desert demonstrated exceptional performance, delivering twice the energy capacity, 30 percent less weight, and half the volume of traditional products, even under extreme environmental conditions.

Attendees also toured the ARC facility, where Dr. Donghwan Kim, Head of Research at Evermore, provided a comprehensive overview of the center’s vertically integrated capabilities — from silicon cathode synthesis using bio-based carbon (including materials derived from cow dung), to nanization slurry production, electrode coating, automated stacking and sealing, and cell performance testing.

“This full-process, in-house approach not only improves efficiency and innovation but also enhances safety and sustainability,” said Dr. Kim.

Evermore Technologies is headquartered in New York, USA and operates the ARC Center in Naju as its principal R&D facility in Asia. The company is actively preparing to scale mass production across both the United States and Europe, strengthening its position in the global battery market.
