Change to Board of Directors

Oriental Restaurant Group PLC 28 March 2000 ORIENTAL RESTAURANT GROUP PLC Re: Board Changes The Directors of Oriental Restaurant Group PLC ('Oriental' or 'the Group') are pleased to announce the strengthening of its management team with the following Board appointments, which take place with immediate effect: Kal Dhaliwal Mr Kal Dhaliwal has been appointed to the Board as Operations Director. Mr Dhaliwal (aged 37) was a co-founder of Shimla Pinks, the award winning Indian restaurant group. In late 1998, Oriental entered into a management agreement with Shimla Pinks, to operate a restaurant in Bishopsgate Churchyard in the City of London. Mr Dhaliwal was directly instrumental in improving trading at this unit and the Board was impressed with the manner in which the restaurant was operated, a manner which they believed would be applicable to the then impending launch of The Yellow River Cafe chain of restaurants. Consequently, Mr Dhaliwal was invited to join the Group, as Head of the Yellow River Cafe division which he did in early 1999. Mr Dhaliwal has been part of the senior management team through the final stages of the development the Yellow River Cafe concept and in the successful launch of the first two Yellow River Cafes and the Canary Wharf restaurant. Ken Hom Mr Ken Hom, the renowned celebrity Oriental chef, has been appointed as a non- executive director of the Group. Mr Hom has had a long association with the Oriental Restaurant Group in the role of Group Consultant Chef, initially at Imperial City, and more recently, in his involvement with the Group's Yellow River Cafe concept. Ken Hom has been instrumental in developing this innovative new brand in association with the Group's management, advising on both the menu design and the food offering, as well as the marketing of the brand. It remains the Group's intention to develop the Yellow River concept and establish a chain of branded oriental restaurants. In addition, the Board announces that Andrew Hobbs has resigned as a non- executive director. The Directors would like to thank him for his contribution to the Group over the years and wish him every success in the future.
