VTEM results show historical drilling missed primary VMS and
feeder targets
VANCOUVER, April 12 /CNW/ - First Narrows Resources Corp. (TSX-V: UNO)
("First Narrows" or the "Company") is pleased to provide further details about
the cluster of VTEM airborne geophysical conductors on the Chester Property
located west and northwest of the known Chester zinc-lead-silver volcanogenic
massive sulphide (VMS) deposits and the copper-polymetallic feeder deposits.
The VTEM targets are located on both the Teck Cominco Option and on the
surrounding claims owned 100% by First Narrows. First Narrows has the right to
earn a 100% interest in the Teck Cominco claims. The Chester Property is
located 53 km west of Miramichi, NB.
The VTEM conductors occur as discrete near surface targets aligned along
several prominent trends hosted within the flat lying to gently dipping
Chester favourable horizon. The targets are immediate extensions of, and lie
satellitic to, the known Chester deposits. The strongest conductors are shown
in red/pink (see the attached map or visit: www.uno.ca). The stratabound
conductors, representing the VMS targets, are up to 1,000 meters long by
400 meters wide and up to 50 meters thick.
Wide spread alteration and sulphide mineralization, as demonstrated by
assay and core descriptions from some of the historical drilling,
characterizes the Chester horizon, with the VTEM conductors interpreted as
outlining the areas of increased sulphide content. None of the historical
drill holes, except for the shallow holes in the near surface portion of the
up-dip extension of the Western Deeps (see news release of April 4, 2005),
tested the key VMS and feeder VTEM conductors. The collar locations of the
historical drill holes outside the known Chester deposits are also shown on
map previously referenced.
The distinct cluster and size of the VTEM targets demonstrate a clear
potential for a major increase to the Chester property's known zinc-lead-
silver and copper-polymetallic resources.
Mr. Arthur Hamilton, P.Geo., is the Company's Qualified Person on the
Chester and Middle River Projects. Mr. Hamilton is the former Chief Mine
Geologist for Noranda's Heath Steele Division.
