ADVISORY BOARD FORMED TO CONTRIBUTE TO
FUTURE BUSINESS STRATEGY
Ingenta plc, the global market leader in the online distribution of published
scientific, professional and academic research, is pleased to announce it has
created an Advisory Board of leading industry figures to provide strategic
advice and support to the Ingenta plc Board. Selected for their expertise in
specialist areas of the information industry, the Advisory Board will provide
input on strategic ideas and initiatives, identify key business developments
and provide access to high-level contacts internationally.
The members of the Advisory Board will consist of representatives from both
the UK and the US. The UK based group has now been formally constituted and
includes:
John Cox: Principal of John Cox Associates, whose career has included being MD
of B H Blackwell and Carfax Publishing, now part of Taylor & Francis Group
plc, and the development of innovative licensing regimes for library and
publisher clients.
Professor Wendy Hall, CBE, FREng.: Professor of Computer Science, University
of Southampton, who has wide international experience in all aspects of
computing and its role in information and communication, and is very active in
the Web community.
Professor Derek Law: Director of Information Resources, University of
Strathclyde, who was the co-developer of BIDS national data services and is a
leading international emissary of the research library community.
Drs ing. Herman P. Spruijt: Chairman of the Board of Non-Executive Directors,
Brouwer Groep Holdings, and former Chairman and Chief Executive of Elsevier
Science, who is an active member of the Industry Advisory Board of the World
Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and the International Publishers
Association.
David Worlock: Chairman, Electronic Publishing Services Ltd., a leading
consultancy covering the online information industry, who has wide experience
of managing folio and electronic publishing companies.
Mark Rowse, Chief Executive of Ingenta, commented: 'The formation of such a
