Costain awarded contract extension with EDF

Costain Group PLC ("Costain") has been awarded a new five-year framework contract by EDF to continue providing project controls services at EDF's eight nuclear power stations across the UK.

The extension of the Project Controls Resources Framework, which is worth £75m to Costain over five years, will take Costain and EDF's partnership through to 2030.

Costain has been working with EDF since 2017, when it was first named on the Framework to support the safe operation, plant life extension, and preparations for the defueling and decommissioning of EDF's UK nuclear power stations. 

Alex Vaughan, chief executive officer of Costain, commented: "This extension is evidence of our successful strategy of developing long-term trusted partner relationships with critical infrastructure asset owners such as EDF. By ensuring the safety and efficiency of civil nuclear energy operations and decommissioning activities, we're helping to create a sustainable future that delivers local and national economic prosperity."
