Costain and Alliance Partners Secure Extension to Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Scheme

Costain Group PLC ("Costain"), as part of the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA), today announces that the SPA has been chosen by Anglian Water to deliver an additional 260 kilometres of major strategic pipeline in the East of England over the next five years, to improve resilience to drought and climate change by transferring water from wetter regions to drier parts of their region.

Water resilience is a critical area of focus for the water industry, with significant investment planned over the next 10 years. Costain has been working with Anglian Water through AMP7 to deliver their critical resilience programme and, as the industry transitions to AMP8, the SPA has been awarded this extension to the existing contract. The extension builds on the existing SPA interconnector work and will take the total length of the strategic pipeline bringing resilience of supply to East Anglia to 580km.
