Acquisition of IKAN - Leads to New Channel Model for Harrier
Harrier Group plc announced today that as part of the Company's strategic
development it has purchased the fixed assets of IKAN plc, (including the
name, Intellectual Property rights, contacts and business pipeline) from the
receivers for a consideration of £100,000. In addition, Harrier Group will be
retaining IKAN's seven employees.
IKAN was established in 1999 as an Information Assurance consultancy practice
and has continued to grow organically, developing its client base to include
many household names. Until the acquisition of IKAN's assets by Harrier Group,
all of IKAN's products and services had been sold direct to a corporate client
base.
Harrier Group intends to utilise IKAN as a vehicle to launch a two tier
channel approach to the UK Market Place, providing Information Assurance
Services, Managed Services and Training. This will enable Harrier Group to
take advantage of a wider market thus increasing potential sales revenue.
Harrier Group will continue to supply a complete range of information security
and data management solutions to a corporate client base through the separate
HarrierZeuros brand, purchasing, as applicable, products and services from
IKAN.
David Cheesman, CEO of Harrier Group plc comments, 'Information Assurance and
service provision in this area is rising to the fore as more and more
organisations realise the potential value of their most important asset -
information. We welcome this opportunity to allow resellers that may not have
the skills or resources to provide these services themselves, to utilise IKAN
as way to increase their own revenues.'
