RIMOUSKI, Aug. 17 /CNW Telbec/ - Petrolia (PEA-TSXV) has successfuly completed two seismic surveys and is pleased to announce the scheduled commencement of its first drill program. During this summer, $1.2 million has been spent on seismic surveys, 74 Kms on the Gaspe property and 33 Kms on the Gaspesia property. Petrolia's management is mobilizing a drill rig in anticipation that final interpretation of the seismic data will confirm preliminary results. Seismic surveys conducted in prior years have defined clearly structures, some with stratigraphic roll-over targets at scales that provides the geometry for potentially large hydrocarbon entrapment volumes on the Gaspesia property. GASPE PROPERTY DRILL PROGRAM In the near term, Petrolia's mission is to explore, develop and to produce hydrocarbons from shallow reservoirs in order to minimize development costs and to maximize economic returns. As Petrolia's President, Andre Proulx recently stated : "our initial objective is to produce from multiple locations at a small scale and to demonstrate the hydrocarbon potential of the Gaspe Peninsula. It is within this overall vision that our initial three-well program on the Gaspe property will commence in September. The drilling platform and related infrastructure for the first well "PEA 1" is already in place and is ready for the drill rig that is scheduled to arrive in two weeks." The planned three-well program represents the first phase of Petrolia's aggressive exploration of the Gaspe Peninsula. All of the required elements are in place for the commencement of the drilling program in September.
