Appointment of Director

Caffyns PLC 12 December 2003 CAFFYNS PLC For Immediate Release Caffyns plc today announces that Mr Brian Birkenhead has accepted the position of non-executive Director with effect from 1st January 2004. Mr Birkenhead currently holds non-executive appointments with Itnet plc, Cubitt Consulting Ltd. and Hermes Fund Managers plc. He is also a Trustee of the BT Pension Scheme. Previously he was the Group Finance Director with National Power plc and from 1995-1997 was Chairman of the Hundred Group of Finance Directors.
