Recent Research suggests medical errors to be third cause of death in the US

RENO, NV, April 15th, 2024. Blue Star Opportunities Corp. (The "Company") (OTC: BSTO), is surveying the extent of medical errors, especially medication errors (Adverse Drug Events or ADE) in current literature. Among other studies of the subject, a communication  published a little over a year ago regarding a John Hopkins medicine study, suggests that medical errors could be the third cause of death in US, surpassed only by heart disease and cancer.

It is one more confirmation  that not much progress has been made by the HMOs and Providers towards the prevention of these errors since 1999 when The National Institute of Health advocated the use of technology to prevent adverse drug events in its report To Err is Human.

Research literature shows ADEs, continue to be a serious concern in healthcare today. ADEs can range from mild side effects like nausea or dizziness to severe complications such as organ damage or allergic reactions. Unfortunately, providers are not always able to monitor patients for signs of ADEs because of the lack of proper information management.

The Company’s newly acquired MedGuard AI has been tested in major tertiary care hospitals in Canada and Texas, including McGill University affiliates, where imedication errors were reduced by 80% as well as inpatient mortality by 50%. The Company is in the process of making the system available online to individuals, a development made economically feasible by using the recent advances in Artificial Intelligence. MedGuard AI will allow individuals to monitor their own medication safety and help make up for the lack of prevention by provider organizations.(NIH).
