Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva called a meeting on Thursday with Finance Minister Fernando Haddad, Agriculture Minister Carlos Favaro and the chief of state-run lender Banco do Brasil BMFBOVESPA:BBAS3, the presidential palace said.
The group, which also includes other ministers, is discussing alternatives for resolving the debt problem faced by rural producers, as the government is expected to present a proposal by next week.
