[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 0520R Timestrip PLC 28 April 2009 \nTIME.L\nTimestrip plc\n(the 'Company')\n\nTimestripIV showcased in NHS funded Project\n\nThe Company is delighted to announce that its recently launched TimestripIV product will feature as one of a select range of innovations being showcased as part of the 'Design Bugs Out' project, part of the NHS Technology and Innovation Programme that is run by The Design Council and funded by the Department of Health. The aim of the programme is to identify and fast-track the implementation of new technologies and design-led innovations to combat healthcare associated infection ('HCAI's).\n\nIn one strand of the 'Design Bugs Out' project, the Design Council has worked with a team of specialists in healthcare-related design from the Royal College of Arts Helen Hamlyn Centre. This part of the project has developed new designs for everyday items used by patients, nurses and housekeeping staff, with the aim of helping reduce HCAIs by positively influencing behaviour which reduces their transmission or further improving cleaning practices. One of these designs is a cannula with integrated timing device that is provided by the unique TimestripIV product.\n\nThe prototype cannula will be presented, alongside the five finalists, to a wide media audience at a breakfast preview event on Tuesday 28th April at the Design Council in London. There will then follow a month long national tour of all the prototypes to demonstration hospitals and healthcare exhibitions.\n\nPaul Freedman, Joint CEO Timestrip Plc: 'We are delighted that TimestripIV has been used in connection with such a prestigious project.
