[{"type":"text","content":"\n Timestrip PLC\n21 November 2007\n\n\n\nTIME.L\n\n Timestrip plc\n\n DHL successfully trial Timestrip and iStrip\n\nTimestrip plc is pleased to announce that its Timestrip and iStrip label\ntechnologies have been successfully trialled in a pilot project with DHL, one of\nthe world's leading logistics companies, to monitor temperatures of sensitive\nproducts such as medical vaccinations during transportation.\n\nThe iStrip is a patent pending label developed by Timestrip plc which undergoes \nan irreversible colour change when exposed to freezing temperatures. It is \ndesigned to be mass-produced at low cost and to be fully integrated into the \npackaging of products such as vaccines, protein based pharmaceuticals, \nfoodstuffs and fertilizer.\n\nThe trial was focused on improving the transportation of sensitive products in \norder to ensure that the correct temperature conditions were maintained \nthroughout the critical storage and transportation process. Correct storage \ntemperatures are key to this process as up to 50% of problems with the \ntransportation of medical health care products for example are due to incorrect \nstorage temperatures.\n\nThe DHL project has successfully demonstrated the benefit of the Timestrip and \niStrip technologies, not only in monitoring optimum transport temperatures but \nalso in identifying, when problems do occur, which particular parts of a pallet \nor shipment have been adversely affected. This allows targeted disposal of \naffected products, reducing the need to destroy a product that may be scarce or \nvaluable.\n\n\nCommenting on the trial, Mike Meakin, Quality Director, Healthcare EMEA, DHL \nExel said:\n\n'One of the biggest challenges currently facing logistics companies is \ntemperature assurance in frozen, chilled and temperate conditions. It is now \nclear that we can use Timestrip and iStrip labels to highlight whether a \ntemperature limit could have been breached.
