[{"type":"text","content":"\n Timestrip PLC\n18 September 2006\n\n\n\n TIMESTRIP PLC ('Timestrip' or the 'Company')\n\n Technology Breakthrough\n\n Timestrip develops new label technology for vaccines\n\nTimestrip Plc, which develops and markets unique label technologies, is \ndelighted to announce that it has developed a label that is capable of recording\nwhether temperature sensitive products have been accidentally frozen during \ntransport or storage.\n\nThe iStripTM is a patent pending label which undergoes an irreversible colour \nchange when exposed to freezing temperatures. Developed in response to demand \nfrom the pharmaceutical industry, iStripTM is designed to be mass-produced at \nlow cost and to be fully integrated into the packaging of products such as \nvaccines, protein based pharmaceuticals, foodstuffs and fertilizer.\n\nAccidental freezing of Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis and Hepatitis B vaccines, \nand combination vaccines, can compromise their immunological potency. Recent \nstudies in the UK, USA, Canada, Pakistan, Malaysia, Hungary, Mongolia and other \ncountries have found widespread freezing at many levels of the vaccine \ndistribution system. The high incidence of this problem and the resulting \nhealth risks have made the monitoring and elimination of accidental freezing a \npriority for organizations such as WHO, UNICEF and PATH (Program for Appropriate\nTechnology in Health).\n\nPaul Freedman, Joint CEO of Timestrip Plc, commented:\n\n'Current indicators cost up to $3.50 per item and can only be used at case or \npallet level - iStripTM will be marketed at a fraction of this cost, making it a\ncost effective option at an individual product level. We believe that the \ncost-benefit attractions of the technology make it a potential candidate for a\ndoption as a stipulated feature on vaccines. We are currently in discussions \nwith manufacturers, distributors and global health organizations and are \ntargeting initial revenues towards the end of 2007.'\n\nEnquiries:\n\nPaul Freedman/Reuben Isbitsky, Joint CEOs, Timestrip plc 01462 440 700\nShane Dolan, Biddicks 020 7448 1000\nFergus Marcroft, Evolution Securities 020 7071 4300\n\n\n\n\n This information is provided by RNS\n The company news service from the London Stock Exchange\n \n ","length":2568,"tagName":"div"}]
