The AES Corporation (the "Company" or "AES") (NYSE: AES) today announced that it has commenced consent solicitations (each a "Consent Solicitation" and collectively, the "Consent Solicitations") to amend each of the indentures (each an "Indenture" and, collectively, the "Indentures") governing certain series of its outstanding notes, as set forth in the table below (collectively, the "Notes").
