The punch excision better enables SRT penetration to induce fibroblast apoptosis, yielding a synergistic therapeutic effect. Results showed a statistically significant improvement in patient outcomes, with notable reductions in pain, itching, thickness and irregularity of keloid scars after one year of follow-up.
