[{"type":"text","content":"\n Metals Exploration PLC\n01 May 2007\n\n Metals Exploration Plc\n ('Metals Ex' or 'the Company')\n\n Appointment of Non-Executive Director\n\n\n\n1 May 2007\n\n\n\nMetals Exploration Plc is pleased to announce the appointment on 1 May 2007 of\nJonathan Michael Kuvey Pearson, aged 57, as a Non-Executive Director of the\nCompany.\n\n\n\nJonathan has 40 years experience in banking. He has run a number of treasury\nand securities trading businesses in his career, and spent four and a half years\nbased in Singapore in the mid 1980s with Standard Chartered Bank, latterly as\nCEO of Standard Chartered Merchant Bank Asia.\n\n\n\nHis most recent appointment, between 1998 and 31 December 2005, was at Standard\nBank Plc where he was responsible for the Bank's activities in Europe, the\nMiddle East and Central Asia. He chaired the Bank's Assets and Liabilities\nCommittee and sat on its Executive and Credit Committees. In this latter\ncapacity he had significant exposure to the Standard Bank's mining finance and\nprecious metals trading and hedging activities.\n\n\n\nJonathan is currently a director with Melli Bank Plc. In the last five years has\nheld directorships at Standard Bank Plc and Sabanci Bank Limited.\n\n\n\nSteven Smith, Chairman, commented: 'I extend a warm welcome to Jonathan on\njoining the Board of Metals Exploration.
