Logan Resources applies for coal permits south and west of Goldsource discovery, Saskatchewan

(TSXV:LGR) today\nannounced that it has made application for coal permits covering three\nprospective areas to the south and west of Goldsource Mines Inc.'s Border coal\ndiscovery in eastern Saskatchewan. In spring of 2008, Goldsource reported\nresults from its discovery, comprised of two diamond drill hole intersections,\n1.6 km apart, each of which intersected 27 to 34 metres of coal, and 22 to 24\nmetres of which occurred as a single seam. Coal samples analysed returned\ngrades between High Volatile Bituminous C and Sub-Bituminous A.\n\n\nThe nature of historic coal occurrences hosted by the Mannville Group\nstrongly suggests widespread deposition of coal-forming plant material along a\nbroad shoreline during Mannville time. The first two groups of permits for\nwhich Logan has applied enclose areas where Upper Cretaceous rocks overlie\nprospective Mannville Group shoreline rocks and where existing geophysical\ndata support the possibility of significant coal occurrences.\n\n\nThe third permit application encloses an area 500 km to the west, where\nMannville Group sedimentary rocks underlie a thin cover of glacial drift\nproximal to the upper contact with the overlying Colorado Group and where\nexisting geophysical data also support the possibility of a significant coal\noccurrence.\n\n\nPeter T.
