On completion of a competitive application process, FPX has been awarded\n \n $725,000\n \n by Natural Resources Canada (\"\n \n NRCan\n \n \") under the Government of\n \n Canada's\n \n Critical Minerals Research, Development and Demonstration (\"\n \n CMRDD\n \n \") program, designed to assist the development of critical minerals supply chains to contribute to\n \n Canada's\n \n goal of being a net-zero carbon emitter.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Highlights\n \n \n \n \n Non-dilutive and non-repayable CMRDD funding of\n \n $725,000\n \n \n marks one\n \n of the first instances of direct funding from the Government of\n \n Canada\n \n to a development-stage mining company under the government's new Canadian Critical Minerals Strategy\n \n \n Funding will allow FPX to accelerate demonstration of the technical and economic viability to produce battery-grade nickel sulphate and cobalt hydroxide for the EV battery supply chain from Baptiste awaruite concentrate\n \n \n Bench- and pilot-scale testwork funded by the CMRDD grant will build on previous successful testwork, validating Baptiste's robust and conventional hydrometallurgical flowsheet which is expected to be more environmentally sustainable than traditional production meth...
