Frankfurt Airport (FRA) served 3.9 million passengers in\nNovember 2008, a drop of 7.0 percent year-on-year. Recording the smallest\ndecline, intercontinental passenger traffic slipped by 3.1 percent.\nAirfreight throughput fell by 8.2 percent to 176,230 metric tons. Aircraft\nmovements shrank by 3.4 percent to 38,733 takeoffs and landings. Only the\nnumber of intercontinental passenger flights increased by 0.5 percent.\n\n\n\n Total maximum takeoff weights (MTOWs) dropped by 1.1 percent\nin the reporting month, while the accumulated figure for the first eleven\nmonths of 2008 rose by 1.0 percent to 26.3 million metric tons. The number of\npassengers at Frankfurt Airport dipped by 1.0 percent to 49.7 million in the\nJanuary-to-November 2008 period. Within this decline, the attractive\nintercontinental passenger segment still achieved 1.2 percent growth.\nAirfreight tonnage slipped slightly by 0.3 percent to 1.9 million metric\ntons. With 449,528 takeoffs and landings, aircraft movements were 1.1 percent \nlower than in the first eleven months of 2007.\n\n\n\n Most of the Fraport Group's majority-owned airports recorded\npassenger growth in November 2008: Bulgaria's Varna (VAR) and Burgas (BOJ)\nairports on the Black Sea coast rose by 18.6 and 37.5 percent respectively,\nAntalya Airport (AYT) in Turkey by 3.9 percent and Lima Airport (LIM) in Peru\nby 3.3 percent. Only Frankfurt-Hahn Airport (HHN) ebbed by 1.2 percent.\n\n\n\n All of the Group's airports, including FRA, reported 1.1\npercent growth in the January-to-November 2008 period, raising the total\nnumber of passengers to 73.1 million.
