("Clarke" or the "Company") today\n announced its results for the three and nine months ended September 30,\n 2010.\n\n\nClarke had net income for the three and nine months ended September 30,\n 2010 of $11.0 million and $16.9 million respectively, compared to net\n income of $10.6 million and $17.4 million respectively, for the three\n and nine months ended September 30, 2009.  During the three and nine\n months ended September 30, 2010, the Company incurred\n other-than-temporary-impairments on available for sale and\n significantly influenced investments of nil and $3.2 million\n respectively, compared to $2.7 million and $15.6 million for the three\n and nine months ended September 30, 2009.  Clarke also had an income\n tax recovery of $2.8 million and expense of $0.2 million for the three\n and nine months ended September 30, 2010, compared to an income tax\n expense of $2.5 million and income tax recovery of $7.2 million for the\n same respective periods in 2009.\n\n\nThe first three quarters of 2010 offered improved income from continuing\n operations, which increased to $17.0 million, compared to $7.4 million\n for the same period in 2009.
