Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

TORONTO, Jan. 16 /CNW/ - Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes:

-   The unitholders of Retirement Residences REIT (TSX:RRR.UN) have
    accepted the $CDN8.35 cash offer from the Public Sector Pension
    Investment Board (PSPIB). Retirement Residences REIT will be removed
    from the S&P/TSX Composite and Capped Composite, the S&P/TSX
    SmallCap, the S&P/TSX Capped Real Estate, the S&P/TSX Capped REIT and
    the S&P/TSX Income Trust Indices. This transaction will be effective
    after the close of trading on Tuesday, January 23, 2007.

Company additions to and deletions from an S&P equity index do not in any way reflect an opinion on the investment merits of the company.
