[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTORONTO, Sept. 14 /CNW/ - Phoenix Canada Oil Company (TSXV : PCO & OTC BB\n: PHXCF) reports that new patent filings, deriving from the recent issue of\nU.S. Patent No. 7,122,171, have been completed under International Patent\nCooperation Treaty (PCT) rules. Under the Technology License Agreement with a\nmajor U.S. research university, held by its U.S. unit, Phoenix International\nEnergy Inc., Phoenix holds exclusive worldwide rights to the proprietary\ntechnology for a period of twenty years beyond the initial 17-year patent\nterm.\n\n\nPhoenix said that the U. S. patent was the primary milestone that\nestablished its leading position in the developing hydrogen economy. Phoenix\nclaims that the U.S. patent validates its proprietary "foundation" technology\ncovering the solar light-powered generation of low cost, pure hydrogen gas\nfrom a common water feedstock. The patent also provides a strong measure of\nconfidence that no competitive "prior art" that conflicts with the Company's\ninnovative hydrogen technology was determined in the examination process.\n\n\nThe PCT filing procedure is being extended to Canada, the European Union,\nAustralia and India. The Indian filing is considered of special economic\ninterest due to the sub-continent's rapidly expanding economy which remains\ndependent on geologically limited energy resources. India's patent law system\nis patterned on established English and U.S. common law practice that clearly\nrecognizes and protects intellectual property rights.\n\n\nThe patented Phoenix hydrogen generation technology employs practically\nthe full spectrum of solar light energy to catalytically produce virtually\ninexhaustible hydrogen gas resources of pristine energy from an ordinary water\nfeedstock. Hydrogen's combustion products consist exclusively of heat and\nwater vapor. The elimination of greenhouse gas emissions and global warming\neffects will ensure longer term environmental stability.\n\n\nThe TSX Venture Exchange has not reviewed and does not accept\n\n\nresponsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of the contents of this\n\n\nrelease.\n\n\n","length":2194,"tagName":"div"}]
