(CZX - TSX Venture, MTSZF - OTCBB, AOF7E1 - FWB), (\"Canada Zinc\" or the \"Company) confirms that its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (\"AGM\") will be held at its offices, Suite 1304, 925 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, on Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at 10:00a.m., Pacific Time.\n\nAmong other items, shareholders will be asked to approve, confirm and ratify the Shareholders's Rights Plan (the \"Rights Plan\"), as described in the Company's Information Circular prepared for the AGM. The Rights Plan is designed to ensure the fair and equal treatment of shareholders in connection with any takeover bid for outstanding common shares of Canada Zinc Metals. The Rights Plan seeks to provide shareholders with adequate time to properly assess a takeover bid without undue pressure. It also provides the board with adequate time to fully assess an unsolicited takeover bid, to allow competing bids to emerge, and, if applicable, to explore other alternatives to the takeover bid to maximize shareholder value\n\nSeparately, the Company announces that its directors and officers have voluntarily surrendered a total of 3,040,000 previously granted stock options.
