[{"type":"text","content":"\n Vane Minerals PLC\n14 May 2007\n\n\n\n VANE Minerals Plc\n\n ('the Company')\n\n Appointment of Uranium Exploration Manager\n\nVANE Minerals Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Frank Bain as\nExploration Manager of its wholly owned uranium subsidiary, VANE Minerals (US)\nLLC.\n\nMr. Bain brings to the Company a high level of relevant expertise in uranium\nexploration, having worked as an exploration geologist with Kerr McGee Minerals\nin Wyoming and also with Energy Reserves Group specifically on uranium breccia\npipes in northern Arizona. Most recently, Mr. Bain was Field Office Geologist\nfor the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and so also brings invaluable experience\nin U.S. permitting procedures.\n\nFollowing the decline in uranium prices in the 1980's, Mr. Bain entered base and\nprecious metals exploration with Asarco, a major copper miner in the US, and\nmanaged projects including the San Manuel Project. As a consulting geologist, he\nalso managed projects for BHP Billiton, Phelps Dodge Mining, TVX Gold and\nPegasus Gold.\n\nMr. Bain holds B.Sc. degrees in both Geology and Land Management and has 30\nyears professional experience in the industry. He is also a Registered\nProfessional Geologist in the State of Wyoming.\n\nMatthew Idiens, Director of Corporate Development commented: 'We welcome Frank\nas Exploration Manager to VANE's uranium team. As we are all aware, there is a\ndramatic skills shortage in the mining industry internationally, but\nparticularly in uranium given that the industry entered a major downturn in the\n1980's.
