[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTSX Venture Symbol: CFL.UN\n\n\nCALGARY, Aug. 29 /CNW/ - Mr. Wayne Wadley, president of CERF GP Corp.,\nthe general partner of Canadian Equipment Rental Fund Limited Partnership\n("CERF"), is pleased to announce the results for the second quarter ended \nJune 30, 2008.\n\n\nHighlights of the three and six month periods ended June 30, 2008 were:\n\n\n- Revenue for the quarter amounted to $3,717,615 representing an\n increase of 18% over the same quarter in 2007 and up 21% over the\n same six months of 2007.\n\n- Operating margins increased to 53% compared to 51% for the six months\n ended June 10, 2007.\n\n- Net income increased 47% over the first six months of 2007.\n\n- Net income per unit increased to $0.40 basic compared to $0.29 for\n the six months ended June 30, 2007.\n\n- Distributions of $0.16 per unit were declared for the quarter, $0.32\n for the six months.\n\n\nMr. Wadley comments, "Alberta is still experiencing robust growth in most\nsectors of its economy. The Province is dedicated to seeing that Alberta's\ninfrastructure keeps pace with this growth. Recently the Government of Alberta\nannounced a 20-year strategic plan for infrastructure wherein Premier Stelmach\nreinforced his commitment to invest on average of $6 billion (2007 dollars)\nper year for the next 20 years to meet short and medium long term\ninfrastructure goals. This plan captures eight specific areas including:\nmunicipal infrastructure; provincial highway network, other transportation and\ncorridors; health facilities; schools; post secondary; housing and government\nfacilities; community facilities; and water and wastewater facilities.\nAlberta's per capita spending on infrastructure remains at more than three\ntimes the average of other provinces. No previous infrastructure plan has\nlooked 20 years ahead with this range and scope. The 20-year commitment will\nallow Municipalities in Alberta to undertake long range infrastructure\nprojects and commit to long term construction contracts.
