He has over 40 years of experience in the exploration business\nand has held senior positions with SMDC (now Cameco), Selection Trust, and\nTeck Cominco Ltd. where he has gained invaluable, worldwide experience in the\nprecious and base metal, uranium and diamond industries.\n\n\nDuring his distinguished career with Teck Cominco Ltd., Mr. Thorsen held\nseveral senior positions including a 2 1/2 year term as President of Teck\nExploration Ltd. During this term he was responsible for the administration of\n17 exploration offices worldwide and all field operations of the exploration\ndepartment.\n\n\nMr. Thorsen played instrumental roles in the discovery of the South Bay\nMine in northwestern Ontario, the Estrades massive sulphide deposit in\nnorthwestern Quebec (Teck Exploration Ltd.) and the Leinster Mine in Australia\n(Selection Trust).
