Further details are included below.\n\nIan Dinwoodie, Xaar's Chief Executive, commented: 'The commercial launch of \nthese new printing machine products marks an important step forward for Xaar in \ndeveloping volume sales for its Platform 2 printheads manufactured in Sweden and \nthe Platform 3 products manufactured at the new facility in Huntingdon.'\n\n\nDETAILS OF CUSTOMERS' PRODUCTS AT LABELEXPO\n\nPlatform 3: Xaar 1001 printhead: Nilpeter 'Caslon' print module\n\nNilpeter, of Denmark, one of the world's leading narrow web label press\nmanufacturers, and FEEI Ltd. (formerly FujiFilm Electronic Imaging) of the UK\nhave jointly developed Caslon, a modular digital print solution for labels and\nnarrow web packaging using 4-colour process UV inkjet technology. The first\ncommercially available product will be in 330 mm (13') and 420 mm (16') web\nwidths, with 508 mm (20') and 559 mm (22') available later.\n\nCaslon uses the latest Xaar 1001 printheads integrated into a digital print\nengine by FFEI, one of the launch partners for the Xaar 1001 product. Modular in\ndesign, Caslon can be integrated into Nilpeter's conventional flexo press lines,\nor can function as a stand alone roll-to-roll system. In the former\nconfiguration, Caslon's speed matches that of conventional print units.\n\nConsumer trends towards limited-run special offers, short-term marketing\ninitiatives and multiple language variants are driving label and packaging\nmanufacturers to look for alternative production methods. Caslon enables the\ncommercially viable output of such shorter runs and fits into a printing\ncompany's total workflow solution.\n\nPlatform 2: Xaar 760 printhead: ...
