Xaar PLC 07 February 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 7th February 2005 Xaar plc APPOINTMENT OF SALES AND MARKETING DIRECTOR Xaar plc ('Xaar'), the inkjet printing technology group headquartered in Cambridge, is pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Eaves, 51, as Worldwide Sales and Marketing Director and member of the board effective from 1st March 2005. Mr Eaves joins the group from Dainippon Screen, a world leader in electronic equipment for the graphics arts, flat panel display, printed circuit board and semi-conductor markets, where he held the position of Marketing Manager, Europe. Phil brings over 20 years of sales and marketing expertise across many sectors of the imaging and printing industries, and has held senior management positions at Scitex, Crosfield, and Xeikon, one of the pioneers of digital printing. Ian Dinwoodie, Xaar's Chief Executive, commented: 'We are pleased to welcome Phil Eaves to Xaar. This appointment signals a further strengthening of the leadership team at Xaar. Pursuant to paragraph (d) of Rule 6 F 2 and Rule 16.4 of the Listing Rules Mr Eaves was, from 1999 to 2000, Managing Director Europe of Portalis Ltd, a company registered in the Netherlands. Nine months after Mr Eaves resigned from the company, the company was voluntarily dissolved. All creditors of the company were paid and all legal liabilities of the company were met. Mr Eaves held no directorships in public companies within the past five years.
