[{"type":"text","content":"\n Xaar PLC\n16 May 2007\n\n\nFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 16 May 2007\n\n Xaar plc\n\n APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN\n\nXaar plc ('Xaar' or 'the Company'), the inkjet printing technology group\nheadquartered in Cambridge, is pleased to announce that Mr. Phil Lawler will be\nappointed as a non-executive director with effect from 1 June 2007. Following a\nhandover period, Mr. Lawler will become non-executive Chairman of the company\nwith effect from 1 July 2007.\n\nArie Rosenfeld will retire from the Board at that time, having been Chairman of\nXaar since before the Company's IPO in October 1997. During his decade as\nChairman, Xaar's revenues have increased tenfold.\n\nPhil Lawler, aged 58, has extensive experience of high-technology industries,\nhaving spent 18 years until 2002 at Hewlett-Packard in various senior positions,\nmost recently as Chairman and Managing Director of Hewlett-Packard, UK and\nIreland. After leaving Hewlett-Packard, Mr. Lawler has been a director of a\nnumber of technology companies including several private companies where he has\nbeen introduced by venture capital investors.
