Upon the publication of this announcement, this inside information is now considered to be in the public domain. \n \n \nWindar Photonics plc\n(\"Windar\" or the \"Company\")\n \nThe Carbon Trust chooses Windar to supply LiDARs in its Wind Farm Control Trials in the UK\n \nHighlights\n \n· Windar to supply eight WindEYE™ sensors in a €2.3 million UK wind farm controls project backed by EnBW, E.ON, Innogy, Statoil and Vattenfall\n \n· Project intends to demonstrate the effective implementation of wind farm control strategies, including turbine lacelle mounted LiDARs, in reducing levelised cost of energy\n \nWindar Photonics plc (AIM:WPHO), the technology group that has developed a cost efficient and innovative LiDAR wind sensor for use on electricity generating wind turbines, is pleased to announce that it has been selected as the LiDAR supplier to a new multimillion euro project launched as part of The Carbon Trust's Offshore Wind Accelerator programme in the UK. \n \nWindar will supply eight WindEYE™ sensors to be installed on offshore turbines as part of The Carbon Trust's €2.3 million wind farm control trials (\"WFCT\"), designed to demonstrate how effective implementation of control strategies can reduce the cost of offshore wind. The project - backed by EnBW, E.ON, innogy, Statoil and Vattenfall - will investigate the impact of focusing on strategies that aim to improve energy generation across an entire wind farm, rather than individual turbines and help to lower the levelised cost of energy (\"LCoE\"). The WFCT intends to demonstrate a lower LCoE by increasing the total wind energy yield and reducing fatigue, thus saving operational and maintenance costs while also increasing the availability and lifetime of existing and future assets.
