The Board of Windar Photonics plc (AIM: WPHO), is truly saddened to announce that Johan Blach Petersen, Non-Executive Director, passed away over the weekend. Johan had previously been Chairman of Windar and Non-Executive Director for the last 10 years; his fellow Board members and colleagues within Windar wish to take this opportunity to express their thanks for his significant contribution to the Company and extend their deepest condolences to Johan's family at this difficult time.

Jorgen Korsgaard Jensen, CEO, commented: On a personal note, I am shocked and saddened by Johan's far too early passing. A close friend of mine and my family's for over 25 years, Johan has been instrumental in taking Windar Photonics from a start-up idea to the company it is today. His wise counsel will be greatly missed by everyone at Windar and, on their behalf and mine, I would like to send our deepest condolences to his family.
