(TSX:WPT /\n NASDAQ:WPRT), engineering the world's most advanced natural gas engines\n and vehicles, today announced it is working in cooperation with Kroger,\n one of the world's largest retailers with over 2,600 supermarkets in\n the US, to meet their industry-leading environmental sustainability\n goals.\n\n\n\"The Kroger Company has a strong commitment to finding energy efficient\n solutions for business operations, and to reducing our carbon\n footprint,\" says Ashley White, Logistics Sustainability Manager at The\n Kroger Co. \"Adopting liquefied natural gas for transportation with the\n Westport iCE PACK™ LNG Tank System makes both environmental and\n economic sense.\"\n\n\nKroger has placed an order for 40 Westport iCE PACK systems to be\n integrated onto their Freightliner natural gas trucks, which will also\n feature the Cummins Westport ISX12 G engine. All 40 trucks will be\n delivered to Kroger by the end of summer 2014 to support their\n corporate goal to improve fleet efficiency by increasing miles per\n gallon and load capacity.  The supermarket chain is implementing their\n first pilot program of the Westport iCE PACK systems at one of their\n Los Angeles distribution centers.\n\n\n\"Westport  iCE PACK™ provides Kroger's natural gas trucking fleet with a\n cost-effective way to help meet their sustainability goals,\" said Mark\n Aubry, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Westport. \"As one of our\n first customers of iCE PACK, our latest technology for fleets running\n on LNG, Kroger clearly demonstrates their leadership in identifying new\n solutions that help continuously improve their fleet efficiency.\"\n\n\nThe Westport iCE PACK system is the leading LNG tank system for natural\n gas trucking fleets that uses clean burning, domestic LNG which costs\n an average of $1.50 per diesel gallon equivalent (DGE) less than\n diesel.
