("Blackpool"), an\noil and gas company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange ("TSXV"), and Westbow\nEnergy Inc. ("Westbow"), also an oil and gas company listed on the TSXV, are\npleased to announce that at special meetings of their respective shareholders\nheld on March 12, 2008, the shareholders approved the amalgamation of Westbow\nand Blackpool as disclosed in the Joint Management Proxy and Information\nCircular of Blackpool and Westbow dated February 6, 2008 (the "Information\nCircular"), a copy of which has been filed on SEDAR under each company's\nprofile. Furthermore, the shareholders of both Blackpool and Westbow approved\nthe proposed stock option plan for the amalgamated corporation as disclosed in\nthe Information Circular.\n\n\nSubject to final approval from the TSXV, it is anticipated that the\nArticles of Amalgamation will be filed with Alberta Corporate Registry\neffective March 31, 2008. The amalgamated corporation will be known as Western\nCanada Energy Ltd. and its shares are expected to commence trading with the\nsymbol "WCE" shortly thereafter on the TSXV.\n\n\nThe TSX Venture Exchange has in no way passed upon the merits of the\n\n\nproposed transaction and has neither approved nor disapproved the\n\n\ncontents of this news release.\n\n\n","length":1479,"tagName":"div"}]
