Blackpool hires Vice-President, Exploration

CALGARY, Oct. 7 /CNW/ - Blackpool Exploration Ltd. (BPX.A - TSX Venture
Exchange) announces that John Kuhn has joined the company as Vice-President,
Exploration. Mr. Kuhn is a professional geologist and a graduate of the
University of Calgary. He has 15 years of experience throughout the Western
Canadian Sedimentary Basin, including the Peace River Arch area where
Blackpool maintains a substantial prospect inventory. Mr. Kuhn will oversee
all of the Corporation's exploration activities and is scheduled to commence
his employment with Blackpool on October 10, 2005.
