(BPX.A - TSX Venture\nExchange) announces that Fred Kirkham has joined the company as\nVice-President, Engineering. Mr. Kirkham is a professional engineer and a\ngraduate of the University of Calgary. He has 37 years of experience as a\nSenior Reservoir Engineer with a variety of companies in Canada and overseas\nincluding Norcen Energy Resources Ltd. and Atlantic Richfield Indonesia Inc.\nMost recently, Mr. Kirkham has been a principal of Martin Brusset &\nAssociates, one of Canada's leading oil and gas reserves evaluation firms. At\nBlackpool, Mr. Kirkham will oversee all of the Corporation's engineering\nactivities and is scheduled to commence his employment on April 3, 2006. The\nCompany has granted Mr. Kirkham stock options for a total of three hundred\nthousand common shares at an exercise price of $0.36 per share expiring on\nMarch 28th, 2011. The granting of these stock options is subject to TSX\nVenture Exchange approval.
