Blackpool elects new director

CALGARY, June 30 /CNW/ - Blackpool Exploration Ltd. ("Blackpool" or the
"Company") (BPX.A - TSX Venture Exchange) is pleased to announce that Conrad
(Lord) Black of Toronto, Ontario was elected to the Board of Directors of
Blackpool Exploration Ltd. at the Company's 2005 Annual Meeting held on
June 30th in Calgary, Alberta. Mr. Black is a former Chairman of the Board of
Norcen Energy Resources Inc.
In addition, Mr. Black has agreed to subscribe, by way of private
placement, for up to 2,000,000 Blackpool units at a price of $0.50 per unit
for total proceeds of up to $1,000,000.00. Each unit will consist of one
common share of Blackpool and one half of one warrant, each full warrant
entitling the holder to purchase one additional common share of Blackpool at a
price of $0.60 for a period of 18 months from the closing of this private
placement. A hold period of 4 months will apply to the unit shares. No
commissions will be paid under this private placement and there will be no
change of control of Blackpool. This private placement is expected to close on
or about August 7, 2005, subject to approval by the TSX Venture Exchange.
