About this update from Wescan Energy Corp.

[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\nCALGARY, April 10 /CNW/ - Blackpool Exploration Ltd. (the \"Company\")\n(BPX.A - TSX Venture Exchange) announces that the Company has commenced a\ngeophysical review of its' three section, 100% owned property in the Economy\nCreek area of west central Alberta. The Company will shoot or acquire 15 miles\nof two dimensional seismic data to delineate a drillable location on these\nlands, located in Township 68, Range 2W6M. Notable horizons prospective for\nproduction of oil and natural gas in the Economy Creek area are Triassic age\nstrata of the Charlie Lake Formation and Devonian age reef facies of the\nBeaverhill Lake Formation, to a maximum depth of 4,100 metres. A Charlie Lake\nanalog well located at 1-23-68-4W6M currently produces 30 BOEs per day ((x)6\nMcf : 1 barrel) with cumulative production to date of 290,000 BOEs ((x)6 Mcf :\n1 barrel) from the Gold Creek Charlie Lake \"C\" Oilpool. The nearest Beaverhill\nLake analog well located at 14-19-66-4W6M currently produces 704 barrels of\noil per day with cumulative oil production to date of 413,377 barrels from the\nKarr Beaverhill Lake \"C\" Oilpool. Other zones with productive capability in\nthe area include the Cretaceous age Dunvegan Formation and Spirit River Group,\nTriassic age Doig and Montney Formations, and the Devonian age Wabamun\nFormation. A test well will be drilled on Blackpool lands during the 4th\nquarter of 2006 contingent upon the results of the herein noted seismic\ninterpretation.\n\n(x) BOEs may be misleading, particularly if used in isolation. A BOE\nconversion ratio of 6 Mcf: 1 bbl is based on an energy equivalency conversion\nmethod primarily applicable at the burner tip and does not represent a value\nequivalency at the wellhead.\n\nThe TSX Venture Exchange does not accept responsibility for the adequacy\nor accuracy of this release.\n\n\n","length":1895,"tagName":"div"}]
