Until February 2018, Clay was a senior partner of law firm Osler, Hoskin& Harcourt LLP. His practice included many of Canada’s most significant M&A transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $300 billion over the past 25 years, including landmark Canadian transactions and cross border transactions with the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, China, Russia and South Africa. He was the Chairman of Osler and Chairman of the Business Law Department for almost two decades. In 2011, he was named one of the 15 most influential M&A lawyers in the world by the International Bar Association.
