(\"ALD\"), has been awarded a contract with the Kittery Water District in Kittery, Maine, US to detect potential water leaks along 96 miles of pipeline. \nWhile modest in terms of the Company's overall revenues, the contract win is a positive strategic step in the Company's efforts and focus to grow its share of the US municipal and utility leak detection market. \nThe Board believes that the Company's new relationship with Kittery provides it with a reference point for other US municipalities to introduce both services and potentially, in the medium term, some UK-based water monitoring products which could be adapted for the US market. \nStan Berenbaum, Chief Executive of Water Intelligence, commented: \n\"Given the increased demand for clean water, along with reduced supply and aging infrastructure, water leakage is a significant issue for municipalities across the United States. On average, US water utilities are unable to account for about 10% of their water, and, for certain utilities, that figure ranges up to 30%-45%. \n \nThe US Environmental Protection Agency estimates that $335 billion in investment will be required to 2027 to address these water infrastructure issues. \n \nSimilar issues exist in the UK. In its annual report released 28 October 2010, OFWAT reported that 6 water companies failed to meet their leakage targets and that in England and Wales, leakage in the year ended 31 March 2010 was 3,275 megalitres per day, almost identical to the previous two years. \n \nAs Water Intelligence continues to service the residential and commercial markets, we are renewing our efforts and focus to capture a much larger portion of the municipal leak detection market in both the US and the UK.\n \nWe are pleased to have been selected by the Kittery Water District and are committed to helping them locate any water leaks t...
