VVC Exploration starts exploration on Xing Tong CJV Gold Properties in China

TORONTO, Aug. 22 /CNW Telbec/ - VVC EXPLORATION CORPORATION ("VVC" or the
"Company") is pleased to announce the start of exploration on its gold
properties in Tong Guan, a high potential, 11.6 sq km, exploration property
recently acquired for USD$ 500,000, from the "Team 6" Geological Team (a
Chinese public exploration company). The exploration program is targeting
veins Q206, Q237, and Q236 in a 3 sq. km. area of the property, which veins
have been the focus of past exploration. Three (3) parallel mineralized
structures have been traced on surface and tested by shallow adits and
trenches over a 1.2 km strike length in 2003. In previous exploration, six
orebodies of sulphide bearing quartz veins with lengths varying from 100 to
400 m were defined. Gold grades in the trenches and adits were reported to
vary from 2.4 to 20.45 g/t. The gold grades correlate with sulphide content
and average 7.5 to 8 g/t Au over the length of the vein. Until recently, the
area was under military restriction and artisanal miner's activity was the
only mining reported, over a distance of approximately 150 meters along the
veins and to a depth of approximatively 200 meters with variable grades
reported to be between 2 and 60 g/t with an average of 7 to 10 g/t. Although
preliminary, the results seem to indicate good potential for size and economic
value for this important exploration project. The CJV geological personnel are
proceeding with trenching, detailed mapping (1:2000) and systematic sampling
of the three mineralized zones to confirm the information gathered to date.
This exploration, being carried out by a team of nine field geologists, also
includes IP and geochemical surveys and is expected to be completed by the end
of September. Upon completion, a drilling program and adit exploration will be
initiated to test the orebody's extensions to depth (200 to 650 m below
surface). The project is located 5 km from the Xing Tong process plant and is
easily accessible by road.
In addition, the initial phase of an exploration program covering
producing orebodies Q261, Q512, and Q456 has also started. This work which
comprises underground surveying, drifting and systematic sampling along the
veins, is designed to test the vein extensions and potential new mineralized
zones. Following completion of this initial phase, IP surveying and drilling
is scheduled to start in September on the Q261 and Q512 zones.
"These two exploration campaigns are the beginning of a more complete and
aggressive exploration program by the Company, with the objective of
confirming the existing resource potential of the large area controlled by the
Company in the Tong Guan area" stated Mr. Jean-Paul Boily, Chairman end CEO of
VVC. "At the same time, the company continues to improve its gold production
operations in the Tong Guan area. VVC will issue its first results from these
operations in the near future."
