The current Chairman, Mr. Jean-Paul Boily, will remain President\nand CEO of VVC.\nMr. Dufour's appointment comes at an exciting time for VVC as it\nstrategically positions itself in gold development in China. Mr. Dufour, a\nprofessional mining engineer, will bring strong expertise in exploration,\nexploitation, management and project evaluation to the Board of VVC. He will\nsurely provide a strong and solid support to the management team of the\nCompany while it expand its activities in China.\nMr. Dufour began his career in mining exploration and as such carried\nexploration in several mining districts of Quebec. He later became involved in\nproduction and worked as Planning Engineer, Pit Engineer, Chief Mining\nEngineer and Mining Superintendant of a 100,000 tonne per day operation.\nMr. Dufour served on the Board of Director of many mining companies such\nas Noranda Inc. (1988-2002) and SOQUEM. He currently serves on the Board of\nNIOCAN INC., a company that he co-founded in 1995 and was Chairman of the\nBoard and Chief Executive Officer until 2005 and on the Board of Mines Cancor,\na mining exploration company operating in Quebec.\nOver the years, Mr. Dufour has also held the following positions or\nearned the following awards:\n\n- President of the Fondation Polytechnique (2001-2002);\n- Full Professor and Director of the Mineral Engineering Department,\n Ecole Polytechnique de MontrDeal;\n- Assistant to the President of l'Ecole Polytechnique;\n- President, Association des diplFomDes de Polytechnique;\n- Meritus Prize (2001);\n- Consultant to the World Bank, the United Nations, Hydro-Quebec, the\n Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the Quebec Securities\n Commission and numerous mining companies;\n- President of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum\n (CIM);\n- Chairman of the CIM Centennial Corporation (1994-1999), and Chairman of\n the CIM Foundation (1991-1997) which he co-founded in 1972 and is\n currently a trustee.\n- Grand Prix of Excellence (2003) from the Quebec Order of Engineers.\n\n\"The Board is honored to welcome Mr. Dufour as C...
