ST. JOHN'S, Aug. 26 /CNW/ - Vulcan Minerals Inc. ("the Company"
TSX-V: VUL) announces that geophysical logging operations at the Storm No. 1
are incomplete as a tool became stuck in the hole. Fishing operations to
retrieve the tool are underway. This has necessitated mobilizing fishing tools
and personnel from Alberta, which has added to the timing of the operation. As
soon as the fishing operation is completed and/or the well is abandoned, the
drilling program in Western Newfoundland will continue. Schlumberger Canada
Limited is the logging contractor.
Vulcan is a junior exploration company focused on exploring for petroleum
in Western Newfoundland. The Company has an experienced management group and
is well funded to carry out a multi-well program in 2005. Vulcan owns
interests in approximately 250,000 acres in the Bay St. George Basin, which
has the potential to be a new petroleum basin in North America.
