Announces Update To PEA and a Related New Opportunity To Market High Purity USP Barium Sulfate\n \n \n (TheNewswire)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Calgary, Alberta -\n \n \n TheNewswire\n-\n \n \n August 19, 2021 -\n \n \n Voyageur Pharmaceuticals Ltd.\n(TSXV:VM)\n \n \n (\n \n \n OTC\n \n \n :VYYRF) (the \"Company\" or \"Voyageur\") has\nbeen working with SGS Canada Inc. on the Preliminary Economic\nAssessment (PEA) for its Frances Creek barium Quarry operation. A\ncritical part of the PEA is the design of an upgrading system to\nprocess the Frances Creek barium concentrate to meet the requirements\nof the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). The upgrading process has\nbeen the primary focus, such that the PEA could not proceed until the\nupgrading process is developed and verified. The final design and\ntesting have now been completed.\n \n \n \n \n This  process should enable the Company to produce and\nsell a premium natural BaSO\n \n \n 4\n \n \n product to both the pharmaceutical market and\nthe industrial market for high purity barium. Based on the results of\nproduct testing, the Company was able to increase product purity from\nranges of 86.9% to 90.7% to ranges of 97.8% to 99.8%, a significant\nimprovement that meets and exceeds USP requirements. Specifically, the\naverage USP grade for the Company's 10 micron product is\n \n \n 98.8% BaSO\n \n \n 4\n \n \n and for the\nCompany's 1 micron product the average is\n \n \n 99.5% BaSO\n \n \n 4\n \n \n .\n \n \n \n \n Voyageur is pleased with these results and now has a\npath forward to design the Company's USP barium Good Manufacturing\nPractice (GMP)  processing plant. SGS Canada's Inc. engineering team\nis working on plant design and costs will be presented in the PEA.\n \n \n In anticipation of\n \n \n production from the Frances Creek project, Voyageur may be able to\ngenerate additional revenue by selling a portion of production to high\nend industrial BaSO\n \n \n 4\n \n \n consumers.\n \n \n \n \n “We believe these results are equivalent to man-made\nsynthetic barium sulfate. This is significant as our products are\ncreated from Natural barite at significantly less cost compared to\ntraditional synthetic processes. Creating a process to manufacture the\nhighest quality product possible, has been the primary goal for\nVoyageur ...
