VAL-D'OR, QC, July 20, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - Abitex Resources Inc. (TSXV: ABE) (the "Company" or "Abitex") is pleased to announce, effective July 20, 2011, the appointment of Martin Richard, CA, as the Company's Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. Richard holds a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Québec (UQAT) and has been a Chartered Accountant since 1990. Before joining the Company, Mr. Richard was assistant controller for Scorpio Gold Corporation, prior to which he spent more than 10 years as the controller for several subsidiaries of Télébec, a division of Bell Aliant. The Board of Directors has awarded Mr. Richard 250,000 options at a price of $0.08.
Mr. Richard replaces Abitex' current CFO, Jean-Yves Laliberté, who has resigned for personal reasons but will continue to advise the Company on an as needed basis. Management and the Board of Directors would like to warmly thank Mr. Laliberté for his four year tenure and wish him the best going forward.
