[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 6644P Victrex PLC 04 September 2017 \n\n \n \n4 September 2017\nVictrex plc\nJakob Sigurdsson joins Victrex as CEO-designate\nVictrex plc, an innovative world leader in high performance polymer solutions, is pleased to announce that, further to our announcement of 19 April 2017, Jakob Sigurdsson has started at Victrex as Chief Executive-designate, effective 1 September 2017. \nJakob, 53, will join the Board as Chief Executive on 1 October, succeeding David Hummel who is retiring from the Company after 24 highly successful years as Chief Executive. Dave will work through an orderly transition with Jakob over the coming months, remaining on the Board as an Executive Director until Victrex's AGM in February 2018, before retiring from the Company on 31 March 2018.\nLarry Pentz, Chairman of Victrex, said: \"I am delighted that Jakob has joined Victrex. With his track record of making markets and delivering growth, the Board believes this appointment is a strong fit for Victrex as we focus on executing our Polymer & Parts strategy over the coming years.\"\nDavid Hummel, Chief Executive of Victrex, said: \"Jakob joins Victrex at a good time for the business. We continue to perform well and are well placed for 2017.
